Are you passionate about plants and making a positive impact on the environment? Do you want a balance of field and office work? Phoenix Environmental Sciences is seeking a Graduate Data Analyst with a passion for Botany to join our growing team!
The Phoenix Botany Team is growing, and this is a great opportunity to be part of our expansion.
The Role
As a Graduate Data Analyst/Botanist we will train you in botanical surveys, plant identification in the field and laboratory. You will undertake some field work, provide logistical support to field teams and technical report preparation. This is in addition to significant data management and analysis including GIS, vegetation health monitoring and rehabilitation projects across multiple projects. The role will include field work in urban, regional and remote locations mostly within WA.
Phoenix Environmental Sciences is a dedicated biological sciences consultancy providing services to a range of industry sectors across WA. We are committed to having our employees grow with us with training to facilitate career advancement to more senior levels in our team.
Role Requirements
To meet the requirements for this role, you will have:
an undergraduate degree in Botany, Environmental Science, Biology or similar approved discipline
a qualification in data management and analysis
good written and verbal communication skills
desire to undertake field work in a range of environments, including remote areas
have permanent Australian work rights with no restrictions.
Previous experience in field surveys of the Western Australian flora and experience with other aspects of the environmental impact assessment process will be viewed favourably but are not essential. Phoenix is committed to training staff to the correct standard in these tasks.
