Chief Counsel small high performing team is requiring the support of dynamic and strategic practice manager!
**Your new company**
This government body sole responsible is to provide law enforcement to all Australians. The Chief Counsel Group comprises four General Counsels that provide legal advice and services to the agency. The Chief Counsel oversees all four general counsels and the Practice Manager supports the Chief Counsel through a strategic and governance lens.
**Your new role**
You will be responsible in delivering practice management support services and working in close collaboration the Chief Counsel, General Counsels and their officers. This will include the following:
- Providing leadership, management and direction to Legal by coordinating practice management services, including governance, standard operating procedures, training, legal reporting, finance and human resource services and ensuring compliance and best practice in all these areas.
- Supporting the legal teams and relevant internal stakeholders to formulate, manage and administer the budgets
- Representing the Agency in government forums (such as the Commonwealth Legal Practice Manager's Forum) and government working groups.
- Leading and managing the group of practice management, litigation assistant and paralegals across the legal teams to ensure best practice and efficient outcomes across the agencyUndertaking research and analysis of strategic legal and corporate issues affecting the agency more broadly and proactively reporting on and addressing these matters to the Chief Counsel.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Previous experience as a legal practice manager within the APS or government setting
- You will have exceptional written communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills in order to work with some of the governments most senior executives.
- You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Clearance
