Design & Technology Teacher
Swan Christian College is seeking a qualified and passionate Design & Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team. This position offers the flexibility of part-time or full-time hours and is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and Christ-centered learning environment where students are empowered to think critically and creatively.
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will foster students' creativity, practical skills, and problem-solving abilities through engaging lessons. You will also contribute to students' spiritual and emotional development, nurturing their unique gifts and potential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons, using varied strategies to meet individual student needs and course objectives.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff.
* Maintain a safe, well-managed classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety practices.
* Support students' personal development, including organizational skills, study strategies, and wellbeing.
* Participate in co-curricular activities, pastoral care duties, and school events to foster a strong school community.
* Model and promote the College's Christian values, supporting the spiritual growth of students within a faith-based environment.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
* A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active membership in a Christian Church.
* Acceptance of the Swan Christian Education Association's Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Design and CNC technologies.
* Experience teaching Design and Graphics, with the ability to meet National Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Familiarity with a variety of teaching and learning strategies, along with formative and summative assessment strategies.
* Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
* A commitment to creating a positive and safe learning environment, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Evidence of subject competence through folios, workbooks, or teaching notes presented at the interview.
* A current Working with Children Check and TRBWA registration.
Desirable:

* Experience with AutoCAD or other drawing suites.
* Competence in Metal and Woodworking.
* Experience in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
