We're Hiring: Functional Consultant – IBM Maximo
We're looking for an experienced Functional Consultant to join our Maximo Capability team. In this role, you'll deliver high‑quality functional services across IBM Maximo, partnering with clients to design, configure, and support enterprise asset management solutions that drive real business outcomes.
This is a
hybrid role
, with the option to be based in our
Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney
offices.
Remote work within Australia
will also be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyse and validate business requirements.
* Design and document functional specifications aligned with IBM solution capabilities.
* Configure, test and support IBM modules to meet business needs.
* Collaborate with technical teams to deliver customisations, integrations and enhancements.
* Lead workshops, demonstrations and training to support solution adoption.
* Develop and maintain documentation, including process flows and user guides.
* Support change management and transition activities during project go‑lives.
* Contribute to project planning, reporting and governance activities.
AMS Support
* Investigate and resolve functional issues with clear and timely communication.
* Support users across IBM modules, ensuring system stability and compliance.
* Monitor functional performance and recommend improvements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation initiatives.
What You Bring
Core Functional Capability
* Proven experience as a Functional Consultant across IBM enterprise applications (IBM Maximo, IBM Cloud Pak, or similar).
* Hands‑on experience with IBM solution configuration, testing and deployment.
* Strong understanding of business processes across asset management, finance or supply chain.
* Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
* Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and documentation skills.
Stakeholder & Delivery Skills
* Strong communication and workshop facilitation capabilities.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
* Experience collaborating with technical teams on integrations and enhancements.
Desirable
* IBM product certifications (e.g., Maximo Functional Analyst, Cloud Pak Specialist).
* Experience in asset‑intensive industries (mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure).
* Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall project methodologies.
* Exposure to integration tools, reporting platforms or data governance frameworks.
* Consulting or client‑facing delivery experience.
