About The Role
This is a temporary part time role (22.5 hpw) up to 30 July 2027 with a possibility of extension due to ongoing funding.
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. You will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to young people aged 12 to 25 referred to headspace Canberra.

Duties
* Provide evidence-based, focused psychological strategies
* Work with all stakeholders to maximise care outcomes
* Maintain accurate case notes using electronic clinical records
Skills & Experience
* Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards in mental health) or qualifications in social work and has (or willing to work towards) accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker
* Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive- Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.
* Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
* Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, and their family and friends.
* High standard of computer literacy and data entry competency including MS office and demonstrated capacity to learn new technologies including clinical software packages.

headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Canberra work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
