Job Overview
As Department Manager at Bunnings, you will oversee the daily operations, sales and stock management within your specialist area. You will work closely with coordinators in Service, Inside the Home, Builders and Lifestyles & Garden, reporting directly to your Operations and Complex Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of 20+ to maintain an engaged and safe work environment, and perform duty manager responsibilities including opening and closing the store across weekdays and weekends.
* Build team capability on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance, including engagement, performance management and recognition.
* Rostering and strategic planning for your team to deliver on our service promise and drive department sales through strong merchandising and monitoring key metrics.
* Action customer feedback to improve the end‐to‐end customer experience.
* Own department stock accuracy, including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes.
* Report on customer service levels and liaise with Merchandising, Store Leadership and H&S teams, and build strong supplier relationships.
* Work at least one weekend per three and public holiday shifts as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Strong leadership and influencing skills with experience leading teams focused on safety, wellbeing and specialist product areas.
* Ability to wear many hats, influence multiple stakeholders and understand KPIs to exceed customer expectations.
* Prior experience in leading high‐volume retail operations and a commitment to the Best Experience for customers.
* Must be aged 15 or over.
* Background checks (police, employment, medical, qualification) may be required. A criminal record will be assessed against key role requirements.
