Remuneration: $71,072.43 - $73,287.41 plus Superannuation

About the role

Support the process of linking health and non-health related datasets, including assisting in processing the linkage through the CHeReL’s Data Management system and manual review of demographic data records grouped into Person IDs, preparation of support documentation, and administrative support as needed.



Administrative Officer level 3, salary from $71,072.43 - $73,287.41 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.



What you will do

* Help with the linkage of large health and non-health related datasets through manual review of doubtful links and duplicates using computer-based technologies, ensuring an important level of accuracy and consistency.

* Help in the preparation of Linkages in the CHeReL Data Management System (DMS), organise and take part in Linkage cutoff checks in DMS system.

* Organise and take part in quality assurance checks of linkages and the Master Linkage Key as instructed by the Data Manager.

* Monitor and report Linkage review time against CHeRel linkage schedule and help in updating linkage summary spreadsheets when required by data managers.

* Participate in helping the development of standard operating procedures and other documentation to support the accuracy and integrity of the datasets and their linkage. Also help in testing new linkage procedures and reviewing record pairs when required by Data Managers for Linkage Modelling.

* Under the guidance of the Data Manager, support the administrative work of the unit and undertake other tasks related to supporting the record linkage program.

* Perform all tasks following CHeReL Information Security Policy and procedures.



About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

* Diligence, experience in working with data, inputting data in computer applications, in a research, health, or related work environment an advantage.

* Ability to compare demographic data with varying levels of quality and completeness, of different health and non-health records and decide if records belong to same person.

* Experience in helping documenting tasks and procedures.

* Understanding of and the ability to follow Privacy and Confidentiality policies and guidelines.

* Sound oral and written communication and people skills.

* Well-developed organising skills, the ability to undertake tasks concurrently, work methodically, keep diligence and meet deadlines.

* Sound computer skills and experience in using PC based applications including word processing, spreadsheets data management and communication. Experience using Microsoft Excel software. Basic understanding of relational databases.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
