ALI MEAT & VEGETABLES is a trusted supplier of premium meats and fresh produce, serving our local community with high-quality products. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team and contribute to our commitment to excellence in meat preparation and customer service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Select, cut, trim, prepare, and arrange meat for sale, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Remove bones, trim fat, mince, and grind meat to specific sizes for display or customer requests.
- Prepare marinated, seasoned, and crumbed cuts, as well as curing special meats.
- Operate meat processing machinery, including mincers, grinders, tenderizers, and sausage fillers.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of meat products to ensure food safety compliance.
- Provide expert advice to customers on meat selection, preparation, and cooking methods.
- Manage inventory, assist with stock control, and ensure the timely restocking of meat products.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the meat preparation and display areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
**Key Requirements and Skills**:
- AQF Certificate III or IV in Butchery or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in butchery, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment.
- Strong knife skills and expertise in various meat cuts and processing techniques.
- Ability to operate and maintain meat processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide product recommendations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
