About the role
The Better Regulation Practice Officer supports the Managers, Better Regulation Practice and Strategy & Systems by coordinating and providing practical day-to-day support for better regulation initiatives, capability development, and continuous improvement activities to help ensure regulatory practices are effective, proportionate, and aligned with better regulation principles.
Key accountabilities
* Support project and operational activities, manage delivery schedules, coordinate resources, track progress, and analyse data to drive key initiatives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through clear communication, negotiation, and effective issue resolution.
* Maintain accurate data and reporting to monitor project progress and outcomes.
* Conduct research and provide recommendations to guide evidence-based planning and decisions.
* Prepare briefings, correspondence, training and communication materials to support unit operations and program delivery.

About you
* Experienced regulator with demonstrated operational expertise in human services related regulation.
* Deliver project and support services within tight timeframes while managing competing priorities.
* Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and balance expectations for consistent program delivery.
* Stay updated on Training Services programs to support customer-focused outcomes.
* Work independently within guidelines and escalate high-risk matters to managers when needed.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
* Knowledge and understanding of vocational education and training highly valued.
Essential requirements of the role
* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
* Current and Valid Drivers Licence and willingness to travel
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
