Role Description
To manage all financial operations of the business, including profit and loss, balance sheets, forecasting, accounts receivable/payable, regulatory compliance and pricing.
Key responsibilities
* Maintain integrity of financial data in the general ledger
* Routinely complete bank reconciliations
* Manage AP and AR (including customer liaison, collections and accurate allocation of receipts)
* Lead the month end close process ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
* Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Verify credit card transactions, process payments accurately and reconcile credit card accounts
* Manage fixed assets and maintain the Assets Register
* Produce accurate monthly and annual financial reports by the agreed timeframe
* Prepare, reconcile and lodge monthly IAS and quarterly BAS statements
* Supervise payroll processing and manage superannuation obligations
* Prepare and lodge monthly payroll tax returns
* Maintain workers' compensation and other appropriate insurance coverage whilst minimising premiums
* Ensure compliance with tax laws, superannuation and other statutory and regulatory obligations
* Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed
* Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts by the agreed timeframe
* Monitor, manage and forecast cash flow
* Undertake financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting as required
* Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profit
* Support new business cases, bids, tender responses, pricing decisions, and commercial initiatives
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and partner with senior leaders to provide commercial insights, strategic financial advice and actionable insights to stakeholders
* Monitor compliance with the delegation of authority and company policies
* Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal financial controls
* Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
Skills & Experience
* Experience with MYOB
* Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Experience in managing accounts, cash flow, and compliance with tax regulations
* Attention to detail, problem-solving and critical thinking in financial operations
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Work effectively with cross-functional teams
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Location: Canberra, working in office
* Full time, 37.5 hrs per week – core hours to be performed between 8am and 6pm
