Job Overview - As our Breakfast Cook/Chef, you'll be responsible for crafting delicious breakfast dishes that delight our guests and keep them coming back for more. You'll join the breakfast team, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities
* Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in a timely manner, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
* Plate Presentation: Pay meticulous attention to detail when plating dishes, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet our standards for presentation.
* Prep Work Monitoring: Oversee the preparation of ingredients and ensure efficiency and smooth kitchen operations during service.
* Recipe Modification: Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of guests by slightly modifying recipes, such as reducing salt or removing dairy, without compromising on flavour or quality.
* Kitchen Equipment Maintenance: Properly use and clean kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, knives, and utensils, to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met. Cleaning of crockery where required.
* Communication: Effectively communicate with the team to ensure they are informed about continental options and any special requests from guests.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area, following Empire Procedures and policies to ensure the well-being of both staff and guests.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a hotel or restaurant setting.
* Extensive knowledge of breakfast cuisine and trends, with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Certification from a culinary school or relevant training programs is preferred.
