Overview
Exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Health at Royal Hobart Hospital, the largest hospital in Tasmania and the tertiary referral centre for Cardiology.
Responsibilities
* Provide holistic care to Cardiology patients across Southern Tasmania as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Deliver post‐discharge follow‐up for heart‐failure inpatients.
* Manage heart‐failure patients referred from GPs, general medical physicians and private practice.
* Support prevention of secondary risk factors such as hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, valvular heart disease and arrhythmias.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse, endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
* Extensive clinical experience and advanced clinical competencies in a senior capacity delivering services in a primary healthcare practice environment.
* Advanced holistic nursing experience and clinical judgment applying pathophysiology and human sciences.
* Strong leadership, collaboration, education and consultation skills within inter‐professional teams.
Essential Criteria
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner.
