Relocate to Melbourne and lead Oomiak's Victorian service operation as Customer Service Manager, based in Tullamarine (near Melbourne Airport). This is a key leadership role responsible for service delivery, customer relationships, team performance and commercial outcomes across Victoria's largest industrial refrigeration client base.
About Oomiak
Oomiak delivers end-to-end industrial refrigeration solutions – from concept and design through to construction, commissioning and ongoing support – across food processing, beverage, cold storage, logistics, distribution and manufacturing. With a national footprint, they're recognised for their safety focus, strong culture and deep technical capability, supporting some of Australia's largest organisations.
Technical strengths include ammonia overfeed and low-charge DX, cascade and transcritical CO2, heat pumps, secondary refrigerants, and complex synthetic systems, backed by in-house engineering, manufacturing and service capability.
The Opportunity
This role leads the day-to-day performance of the Victorian customer service business, combining hands-on operational leadership with customer management and commercial discipline. You'll work closely with technicians, apprentices, service coordination and national stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery across planned maintenance, breakdown response and small works. Victoria includes major, high-profile sites such as the markets, meat production facilities, large cold storage facilities and major distribution/customer fulfilment centres.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Victorian service team (technicians and apprentices), setting clear standards, coaching performance and building a positive, accountable culture.
* Own the operational rhythm: scheduling, prioritisation, resourcing and coordination to meet customer commitments across Victoria.
* Build strong relationships with key customers and site stakeholders, maintaining proactive communication and effective issue resolution.
* Drive service performance and commercial outcomes (utilisation/productivity, job quality, rework/warranty control, cost awareness).
* Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers where required to ensure quality, timeliness and consistency.
* Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Oomiak and customer site requirements.
* Identify and implement practical improvements to systems, workflow and service delivery consistency.
About You
* Proven leadership experience in a field-based technical service environment – industrial refrigeration is ideal, but strong adjacent backgrounds may suit (HVAC/mechanical services, industrial maintenance, facilities/service contracting).
* Strong service operations capability across planned maintenance, breakdown response, scheduling and job coordination.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage operational stakeholders and manage escalations calmly and professionally.
* Commercially grounded with a clear understanding of the drivers behind service performance and profitability.
* Safety-first mindset and comfortable operating in compliance-heavy industrial environments.
What's on Offer
* Competitive salary package aligned to experience.
* Relocation assistance, where applicable.
* Leadership role in a national business with strong growth momentum and deep technical capability.
* Exposure to some of Victoria's most significant industrial refrigeration sites and customers.
* Supportive, values-led culture with flexibility (including some WFH, balanced with operational needs).
