DUTIES
•Ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standard.
•Ensure all foods are produced within budget requirements.
•Ensure hygiene standards are maintained at a sufficiently high level and an approved food safety plan is implemented.
•Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment in correct operating order.
•Handle all customer complaints and patron care as required in a courteous, friendly manner.
•Informing potential issues with kitchen staff/manager regarding the prep/ordering/stock control/food safety and quality.
•Follow correct hygiene food handling practices and safety procedures.
•Ordering of products used with authorisation.
•Creation and preparation of any menu items as required including creating and interesting Specials Board.
•Creating a fusion of Mediterranean, Turkish, and modern Australian cuisine.
•Assist in recipe development and service presentation
•Creating menu and working with fusion elements
•Assist all kitchen staff and Manager as required.
•Responsible for running of all aspects of the kitchen including kitchen cost control including menu costing.
•Manage day-to-day kitchen operations
•Recruit, train, and evaluate kitchen staff
•Demonstrate sound teamwork / organisational skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS
At least 2 years' experience as a Chef
Diploma Qualification in Cookery or relevant course
Knowledgeable in Kitchen and Food Safety
Knowledgeable in fusion of Mediterranean dishes, which includes Turkish and modern Australian cuisine.
Experience in Australian brunch and lunch dishes
Experience in recipe development, designing and cooking menu with Turkish elements
Experience in recruiting, training and supervising kitchen staff.
Managed day-to-day kitchen operations and led a team of chefs
