About Our Learning Support Role
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team for Term 4, from April to June. The role involves working closely with the Student Support Team to remove barriers to learning and assist classroom teachers in developing strategies for students to thrive academically.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualized or small group support to secondary students.
* Collaborate with the Student Support Team and classroom teachers to create inclusive learning strategies that address student needs.
* Monitor and track students' progress, ensuring they receive appropriate support and accommodations.
* Foster an inclusive classroom culture, promoting self-advocacy and independence in learning.
* Support the development of strategies to assist students in overcoming academic challenges.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of our school's inclusive education program.
Requirements:
* A Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* A strong level of technology experience and competence.
* The ability to work with tact and discretion, maintaining confidentiality when required.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure effective workload management.
* Proven success working in a multicultural environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and plan effectively with colleagues.
* A passion for building strong relationships within our community.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience in one or more IB programmes.
* Understanding of Universal Design for Learning.
* Experience with IEP and testing.
* The ability to communicate in languages other than English.
* Previous international school experience.
