Our client resides in Hamlyn Heights and is looking to expand their social network. Bring joy, engage in conversations, and provide meaningful companionship. Our client enjoys a chat and really enjoys playing board games in particular Trivial Pursuit. Your visits will help to maintain him community links and reach his goals.
**The Role:**
The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated, to build friendships and break those feelings of loneliness.
In this rewarding volunteer role, youll be matched with an older community member to provide regular social support visits in his home. Your time together can be shaped by shared interestsconversation, board games, listening to music, or simply enjoying each others company. Its a wonderful way to build a meaningful connection and make a positive impact in your local community.
**Our Client**
Youll be visiting a warm and engaging gentleman in his early 90s who lives independently in Hamlyn Heights. He grew up on a family farm with his siblings, helping with ploughing and farm work, before spending his life in handson and communityminded rolesfrom carpentry and running a hardware business to working with Telstra and even operating a gundealing business. He also has a lifelong passion for cars and was known for being an excellent mechanic.
These days, he enjoys the companionship of his muchloved Jack Russell and could happily play Trivial Pursuit for hours. Hed truly appreciate a volunteer who enjoys a good chat, a bit of fun, and the chance to share stories.
