The role
The ideal additions to our team are energetic and Skilled Plant Operators who have a can-do attitude and a willingness to work in a team environment. With a wide range of different jobs from small to large we are looking for staff that have a great attitude, work ethic and desire to try new things and do wide range and variety of tasks.
Previous experience and confidence in one's ability is required for this role.
A civil operator will carry the responsibility for:
Ability to perform without supervision and meet reasonable targets under timelines for job completion
Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials
Ability to communicate with other staff members, supervisors and the like on various jobs.
Ability to read basic plans, interpret levels, measure accurately and read specifications
Ability to work alone without constant supervision
Performing assigned tasks on project.
Completing relevant documentation and administration, including but not limited to plant safety checklists, pre starts, timesheets and day dockets.
Comply with all site safety and environmental requirements.
Working in a manner that does not endanger themselves, others or any equipment.
Ability to advise their manager if they are unsure or unfamiliar with the correct operation or maintenance of equipment.
Advising supervisor immediately of unsafe and/or potential environmentally negative impact conditions/activities in the work area.
Reporting accidents, incidents, near misses and or damage to equipment.
Keep all plant and equipment clean, tidy and in good working order. I.e Full of fuel, Greased, Tracks clean
Monitor plant and equipment by ensuring daily checks and services are performed and up to date by advising your supervisor for servicing and maintance required.
Willingness to get out of the machine and use a shovel, concrete rake, trowel, laser, change attachments etc
Current tickets and licences e.g.
Additional training for the required certificates, tickets and licences related to the role will be provided.
Agreement depending on experience classification level.
Must have
Driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
OHS General Induction Card (White Card) and ACT Approved Asbestos Awareness Certificate. Silica Awareness
VOC - Excavator / Skid Steer
Ability to obtain a security pass and/or clearance if required.
Willingness to work across multiple Canberra building sites.
