Aeronautical engineers are sought to bolster the operational capabilities of the Australian Defence Force. This contract full-time role is situated within a government research organization focused on enhancing defence technologies through aeronautical research and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting research, design, and analysis on aeronautical systems, encompassing fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, to support reliable, safe, and efficient defence aviation operations.
* Performing technical assessments and testing to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of defence aviation systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Contributing to the design, modification, and improvement of aeronautical components and structures, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams to resolve engineering challenges.
* Utilizing modelling, simulation, and testing tools to evaluate aircraft systems' performance, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations to inform stakeholders.
* Assisting in the delivery of projects aimed at improving aviation capabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
* Demonstrated knowledge of aerodynamics, aircraft structures, propulsion systems, or flight systems, as well as proficiency in using engineering design tools and simulation software.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with excellent technical reporting and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Familiarity with aviation safety regulations, ensuring the safe operation of defence aviation systems.
