We are seeking a skilled and reliable Head Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with quality ingredients maintaining high standards, and contributing to a well-run, professional kitchen.
The role involves both service and preparation, with opportunities to be involved in menu development and day-to-day kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
* planning menus for the restaurant and for events
* monitoring quality of dishes
* Preparation and cooking of menu items to a consistent, high standard
* Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
* Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
* Monitoring and training staff
* Working collaboratively within a small kitchen team
* Supporting smooth kitchen operations during service
Skills & Experience
* A minimum of 3 years working as a chef in a commercial kitchen
* Recent experience in al a carte dining
* Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practice
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Availability to work rostered shifts including weekends
