In this role, you will support young people aged 12-24 across the Wollongong Local Government Area by delivering targeted programs, providing support and advocacy, and encouraging youth participation in decision-making.This position requires flexibility with working hours, including shift work (day, evenings, weekends), and may be located at any of the Council's Youth Services locations depending on operational needs. The role is designated under the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, requiring a paid Working With Children Check.SalaryFrom $41.08 per hour plus superannuation and applicable casual loading. Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience, and qualifications.How You'll Make a DifferenceCreate and deliver engaging programs that resonate with young people, including supervising Drop-In sessions at the Youth Centre.Provide information, support, and referrals to help young people navigate challenges and access services.Respond with empathy and professionalism in complex or crisis situations.Ensure services are inclusive and accessible through community development initiatives.Collect and evaluate data to improve programs, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with child protection and WHS legislation.About YouYou are committed to supporting young people and creating inclusive environments. Qualifications in youth work, first aid certification, and experience working with youth are essential.
