George Fisher Mine are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the of position Engineer- Electrical in the Engineering department. This role is eligible for relocation to Mount Isa, to work a residential roster of 5/2, 4/3 (9-day fortnight).

The Role
This exciting position reports directly to the Senior Electrical Engineer and works within the Engineering department. In this role you will be responsible to provide engineering technical expertise to the George Fisher Mine that encompass aspects of engineering design, project management, process and reliability improvements that will ensure targets are achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Your key responsibilities include:
Safe and successful delivery of capital, sustaining and asset improvement projects including shutdowns in a way that ensures quality, financial and technical alignment with the business objectives and Asset Management Strategies.
Lead and manage complex electrical asset projects involving personnel from a variety of teams and professional disciplines to ensure the projects are delivered in accordance with the capital works program, including major upgrades.
Performing calculations for safe and efficient component designs and upgrades.
Prepare robust business cases for complex projects to be undertaken, with a focus on the timing, method of delivery, estimated cost and based upon the scope of work.
Supervise and manage the design, tendering and delivery phases of projects and programs, ensuring that the reports, design plans and documentation are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner, and projects are delivered in accordance with specifications, standards, budgets and project management plan.
Managing external suppliers working on engineering projects, to ensure all certification meets statutory requirements.
The successful applicants will have:
Degree Qualified Electrical Engineer
Qualifications in Project Management (desirable)
Detailed knowledge of mining infrastructure
Demonstrated successful achievement in managing the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects of a complex and multi-disciplinary engineering nature
Substantial experience in contract and construction management, including knowledge of the requirements of various Australian Standards of General Conditions of Contract, permits, approvals and delivery models related to delivery of the projects.
Extensive knowledge and experience in Australian standards and general conditions for contracting, contract law, quality assurance, environmental management and workplace health and safety management
Experience supervising and developing people to deliver business outcomes
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for underground mining.
Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
