Job Title
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server instances and associated infrastructure.
About the Role
* The successful candidate will have a high level of proficiency as a DBA managing Enterprise Microsoft SQL Server and an in-depth knowledge of the SQL Server Database engine.
* They will also have experience in High Availability and Disaster Recovery scenarios, including Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, Mirroring, and Log shipping.
* Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with scripting via PowerShell to automate everyday tasks such as SQL Server installations, Patching installations, and health checks.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage large enterprise high-availability Microsoft SQL implementations.
* Install, create, configure, upgrade, and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance.
* Regularly monitor database performance and optimise queries to ensure efficient query processes.
* Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
* Support application teams for database-related incidents and requests.
* Work within an ITIL framework for all work-related activities, including change, incident, and problem management.
* Champion change on behalf of the team through proactive identification of improvement opportunities.
Requirements
* A high level of proficiency as a DBA managing Enterprise Microsoft SQL Server is essential.
* An in-depth knowledge of the SQL Server Database engine is required.
* Experience in High Availability and Disaster Recovery scenarios is necessary.
* Experience with scripting via PowerShell is desirable.
