**_ Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital._**
We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Orthopaedic Surgery and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Orthopaedic Surgery Department and Hospital as required.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The Visiting Medical Officer in this position will be required to have completed at least six (preferably twelve) months completing a fellowship sub-specialising in hip and knee surgery. The Visiting Medical Officer will be proficient at advanced techniques in hip and knee arthroscopy and arthroplasty, as well as being capable at managing complex traumatic conditions affecting the hip and knee.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), including a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in Orthopaedic Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
