About The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a
Systems Engineer
to join our
Flagship Maritime program
on the
Hunter Class Project
based in Osborne, Adelaide, South Australia.
The Operating Environment specifies the range of environmental conditions that the HCF and its equipment, systems and personnel are required to withstand, and describes the applicability of these requirements to ensure that the vessel, its systems and equipment is fit for purpose and capable of meeting its operational requirements and design intent without significant degradation over the life of the vessel.
Working within the Signatures and Operating Environment Team, this position will see you manage the achievement of the Operating Environment requirements in the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Project whilst working closely with the Requirements & Acceptance Team and other Section Heads/Technical Leads on all Operating Environment requirement issues.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the achievement of the Operating Environment requirements in the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Project by applying Systems Engineering best practices.
Work closely with the Requirements & Acceptance Team and other Technical Leads on all Operating Environment requirement issues.
Review and collate the HCF Operating Environment Requirements evidence in accordance with the agreed schedule.
Review initial supplier tenders for declared compliance with Operating Environment requirements along with review contracted supplier documentation to identify applicable evidence.
Responsible for updating the HCF Operating Environment Equipment Qualification Registers.
Liaise with System Owners and Suppliers where quality of evidence is under dispute.
Agree concessions/deviations with the Design Authority and Customer and produce Operating Environment System Qualification Reports as required.
Assist the Signatures Team with modelling and testing.
Maintain documentation / calculation records under configuration control.
Able to collate and assimilate information from a wide variety of source.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Naval or Electrical Engineering, technology degree qualified or equivalent Maritime service experience.
Meets requirements for registration as Chartered Engineer and preferably be a member of a professional body.
Experience of Technical Authoring with a background in Maritime (desirable).
Technical Knowledge of system design and integration with an understanding of system dependencies.
Ability to operate in a large, complex project in a multi-disciplinary, matrix management environment.
Innovative in developing solutions that satisfy the needs of the project teams within tight time and cost constraints and a willingness to challenge traditional methods.
Strong commitment and self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously.
Eligible to obtain and maintain relevant Defence Clearances.
