Australian Poly Solutions is a specialist provider of poly welding and pipeline construction solutions throughout Queensland and on occasion other states of Australia. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality work, safe operations, and reliable service to our clients in the civil, water, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple field-based projects, support our welding crews, and ensure smooth delivery from planning to completion.
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Project Manager will oversee the planning, pricing, scheduling, coordination and execution of poly welding projects. You will manage field teams and subcontractors, maintain quality and safety compliance, and communicate regularly with clients, engineers and internal stakeholders.
This role is based in Cairns, with regular travel required predominantly throughout QLD and other states from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop project plans, schedules, programming and progress monitoring
* Assist with pricing, tender preparation and budget development
* Manage project costs, track expenses and maintain budget compliance
* Lead and coordinate staff and subcontractors on multiple sites
* Create, co-ordinate and manage staff rostering & travel requirements across multiple sites
* Maintain strong communication with clients, engineers and stakeholders
* Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and uphold safety standards
* Manage procurement of materials, equipment and consumables
* Ensure work meets quality, compliance and design requirements
* Maintain accurate documentation, QA records and reporting
* Troubleshoot project issues and keep works on track
* Manage inventory, tooling, servicing and equipment repairs
* Daily/weekly/monthly reporting including hours, incidents, schedules, delays, budgets and forward planning
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Experience in plumbing (poly welding favourable), civil construction, water infrastructure or similar
* Strong project management capability
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to read and interpret drawings
* Strong focus on safety and compliance
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to lead and motivate field teams
* Sound computer literacy and reporting capability
* Formal qualifications in project management or engineering are desirable, but not essential.
