**About the role**
Specialist Disability Housing is currently looking for highly active Disability Support Workers (Casual) with minimum 1 year of experience. We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced disability support workers for our clients in Busselton, WA area. You can make a difference in our clients' lives by supporting them with daily living activities and domestic duties and empowering them to achieve their life goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support participants to work towards achieving their individual goals
- Must be willing to stay in water during the hydrotherapy sessions.
- Support daily living, promoting cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping, Medication administration, community access etc.
- Support participants in building their confidence.
- Liaise and collaborate with clients, their community and community & disability support agencies.
- Monitor and review the participant's progress through the service and against the support plan.
- Utilize positive behavior strategies
- Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks, including employment, in-home disability support and community access.
- Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and client rights policies, including privacy and confidentiality.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of people with disability and report any concerns to the Manager.
- Ensure completion of appropriate documentation. As required, relevant information on disability support will be recorded in client notes and communication books.
- Participate in the Lifestyle Service Planning process for individual clients and monitor outcomes.
- Work with clients, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.
- Liaise extensively with other staff to ensure the overall smooth and consistent running of the disability services.
- Report regularly to the Manager
**Skills & Experience**
- Qualification in community/disability/individual support/aged care/ Mental Health and preferably with relevant experience.
- Experience working with clients with disability & challenging behaviors.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- 100-point check ID
- Valid visa/working rights in Australia

- Medication cert
- Manual handling cert
- Working with children check
- NDIS clearance check
- NDIS orientation module cert
- Covid-19 Vaccination evidence (1st, 2nd and booster doses)
- Hand hygiene cert

**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 - 24 per week
