Job Title:
Budget Management Support Planner

* Locations include Wollongong, Parramatta & Penrith.
* The initial contract is 12 months.
We are partnered with a large Federal Government Agency to recruit APS4 planners working in Sydney.
Role Overview:
A Federal Government body supports Australians and their families by valuing a positive contemporary attitude to disability. They seek APS4 Budget Management Support Planners to join the reform and transition team. These positions provide operational and administrative support within the service delivery area.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse participant records using policies, practice guidance and legislation to make funding decisions for participant plans to reduce overspending.
* Work with participants and their representatives via telephone to identify current circumstances and spending patterns.
* Keep high-quality records, including competency with IT systems, adhering to process guidelines and standard operating procedures.
* Research and review decisions and manage moderately complex cases with staff assistance at higher classification levels.
* Complete administrative and data entry tasks related to participants.
* Contribute to key performance indicators, including planning targets.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to manage difficult conversations.
* Competent IT and data analytical skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
* Work independently but effectively in a team.
* Manage multiple participant records at once.
* Must be able to work from an office during training.
* Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is highly desirable.
