Overview

* ASX-listed drug development company focused on oncology
* Full-time continuing position with competitive remuneration package
* Lab-based role performing preclinical oncology drug development research

About The Company
Race Oncology (Race) is an ASX-listed Phase 3 clinical biopharmaceutical company with a dedicated mission to be at the heart of cancer care. Race's lead asset, RCDS1 (E,E-bisantrene), is a small molecule anticancer agent that primarily functions via G-quadruplex-DNA & RNA binding, leading to potent inhibition of the important cancer growth regulator MYC. RCDS1 has demonstrated therapeutic activity in cancer patients and has a well characterised safety profile. Race is advancing a proprietary formulation of RCDS1 (RC220) to address the high unmet needs of patients across multiple oncology indications, with a Phase 3 clinical program in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), a Phase 1a/b program in mutant epidermal growth factor receptor non-small cell lung cancer (EGFRm NSCLC), and a Phase 1a/b program in combination with the anthracycline doxorubicin, where we aim to deliver both cardioprotection and enhanced anticancer activity for solid tumour patients.

About The Role
Race is seeking an exceptional Research Associate (B.Sc) or Scientist (Ph.D.) to join our experienced team and perform in-house preclinical research in support of the clinical development of RCDS1. In addition to lab work, this position requires the candidate to liaise with Australian and international academic research institutions and commercial research organisations (CROs) involved in preclinical studies that support Race's scientific, regulatory, and commercial goals. You will be required to work both independently and collaboratively as part of Race's scientific and clinical teams. In this full-time laboratory role based at Race's facility within the University of Wollongong, you will report to the Vice President of Research.

* Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
* Attention to detail while working concurrently across multiple projects and meeting tight timelines.
* Keen interest in oncology drug development and commercialization.
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required by the company.

* Experience in the design, planning and execution of experiments aimed at evaluating the pharmacology/toxicology of drug substances.
* Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, western blotting, qPCR, etc.
* Experience in the management of outsourced preclinical studies to evaluate the mechanism of action, efficacy and safety of new drugs.
* Excellent understanding and interest in oncology at the molecular, cellular, animal and human level.
