Supashock Advanced Technologies is seeking a suitably qualified Metallurgical or Materials Technician to support our engineering and testing operations. This role involves conducting materials analysis, quality testing, and reporting to support product development, performance evaluation, and compliance with technical standards.
What you'll be accountable for:
* Conducting physical, chemical, and mechanical tests on metals, alloys, and other materials in line with established procedures and standards.
* Developing new welding procedures as per PQR.
* Preparing and examining metallurgical samples using cutting, grinding, polishing, and etching techniques.
* Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as microscopes, hardness testers, tensile testers, and spectrometers.
* Performing non-destructive testing (NDT) and evaluating results to assess material integrity and quality.
* Recording and analyzing test data, preparing accurate technical reports, and documenting findings for internal and client use.
* Assisting in the development and validation of testing methods, procedures, and quality assurance processes.
* Collaborating with engineers, production teams, and clients to provide technical insights and recommendations.
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laboratory and field settings.
You will succeed in this role if:
* Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher qualification in Metallurgy/Materials.
* Relevant industry experience in materials or metallurgical testing is required.
* Demonstrated experience in a materials testing, metallurgical, or laboratory-based technical role.
* Strong understanding of materials properties, testing methods, and laboratory procedures.
* Ability to follow technical instructions and work to defined standard.
