Expression of Interest - Hospital Medical Officer (PGY2/3) - 2025
Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research, and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, offering ambulatory, inpatient, and home and community-based services.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from local and overseas trained Hospital Medical Officers/Resident Medical Officers (HMO/RMOs) who wish to enhance their training in Australia. Our hospital network includes three hospital campuses, extensive community programs, and 16 state-wide services, providing the most comprehensive healthcare in Victoria.
We are looking for positive, committed, and inspiring HMO/RMOs dedicated to delivering exceptional care and outcomes. We aim to train high-quality doctors and support our staff with excellent education and resources.
Applications are invited from qualified HMO/RMOs who will be in postgraduate year 2 or 3/3+ in 2025. Rotations may include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Aged and Rehab, Relieving, Trauma, and Surgery. Applicants should specify their preferred key rotations.
Victoria clinical term dates are as follows:
1. 3rd February 2025 - 4th May 2025
2. 5th May 2025 – 3rd August 2025
3. 4th August 2025 – 2nd November 2025
4. 3rd November 2025 – 1st February 2026
*Relieving involves supporting or backfilling within your rotation, potentially across multiple units or sites, including rural hospitals, depending on need.
Applicants should expect to complete rotations across any of our three campuses: Sandringham Hospital, Caulfield Hospital, and The Alfred Hospital.
Only applicants eligible for general or provisional medical registration with AHPRA will be considered, due to supervision requirements. Support with registration and visa sponsorship will be provided, which can take approximately 3-6 months for approval.
