Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who are navigating the justice system.
Your primary responsibility will be to work hands-on with young people, providing them with personalized support and guidance to help them reclaim control over their futures. You will also be responsible for delivering case plans designed to break cycles and build brighter paths.
As a Youth Support Worker, you will work closely with families, schools, courts, police, and service providers to advocate for young people. You will also be responsible for keeping accurate case notes and contributing to service improvement through data and feedback.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations. You will also need to be committed to integrity, compassion, and respect.
Our ideal candidate will have a Diploma or tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, or a related field, and experience working with young people in the justice or community sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalized, strengths-based support to young people through TSA's model of care
* Help young people access education, housing, health services, employment, and cultural connections
* Mentor young people to build life skills, confidence, and community - including after-hours support
* Work closely with families, schools, courts, police, and service providers to advocate for young people
* Keep accurate case notes and contribute to service improvement through data and feedback
* Build genuine, trusting relationships that empower young people to reach their goals
* Champion child safety and uphold TSA values in every interaction
