Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking for a meaningful role in a values-based organisation? Do you want to use your accounting and administration skills to support quality aged care and make a genuine difference in a thriving rural community?

Mansfield District Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Aged Care Finance Assistant & Finance Support Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Finance Team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, accuracy, and collaboration—and wants to contribute to high-quality care for older adults in our region.

Why Mansfield?

Located in the beautiful High Country of Victoria, Mansfield is a vibrant, welcoming community known for its stunning landscapes, outdoor adventure, and relaxed country lifestyle. With nearby lakes, snowfields, and endless walking trails, it's the perfect balance of work, life, and play. At Mansfield District Hospital, you'll be part of a supportive team that values integrity, fairness, accountability, and—above all—Great Care.

About the Role

In this pivotal finance role, you'll support the financial management of our Aged Care services while assisting the wider Finance Department. Your work will help ensure smooth operations, compliance with legislation, accurate billing, and excellent communication with our residents and families. No two days will look the same—some days you'll be deep in data, others you'll be assisting with audits, updating contracts, or supporting Accounts Receivable/Payable where required.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Aged Care Finance Assistant & Finance Support Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

* Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Responding promptly to finance-related enquiries to support effective departmental management.
* Administering and processing Residential Aged Care billing, receipting, and financial documentation.
* Assisting with probate calculations and RAD refunds in line with legislative requirements.
* Preparing new Residential Aged Care Contracts in collaboration with the Director of Aged Care.
* Communicating clearly and respectfully with residents regarding all financial matters.
* Participating in internal and external audits, including Prudential Compliance and Care Minute audits.
* Maintaining and reporting on the Residential Accommodation Deposit Register.
* Supporting the development and review of policies, procedures and work instructions related to the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Rules 2025.
* Implementing strong financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
* Managing the Aged Care Contract Register (NeRA) including fee variations and accommodation deposit changes.
* Ensuring accurate resident financial files, including correspondence from Services Australia.
* Updating the Disclosure Register and assisting with payroll preparation when required.
* Proactively resolving account discrepancies and supporting the Finance Manager as needed.

What You'll Bring

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles (aged care finance experience highly regarded).
* Strong communication skills—especially when supporting residents and families.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to improve systems and processes.
* Familiarity with aged care funding, RAD processes, Centrelink communications, or Proda (desired but not essential).

Why Join Us?

* Work within a caring organisation that values fairness, integrity and accountability.
* Make a meaningful contribution to high-quality aged care in our community.
* Enjoy the lifestyle benefits of living and working in the stunning Mansfield region.
* Be supported by a friendly, skilled team and a progressive rural health service.
