About the Role 
As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting older Australians to maintain their independence and live with dignity. Your responsibilities will include: 
- Providing personal care, including hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance 
- Assisting with household tasks such as meal preparation and light cleaning 
- Supporting clients with social and community engagement 
- Administering medication as required (if trained and qualified) 
- Providing transport for medical appointments and activities 
- Encouraging and promoting independence, choice, and well-being 
- Implementing individualised care and support plans 
Working Hours & Requirements 
GCLA operates 24/7 services, with shifts available across public holidays, weekends, overnight, evenings, and mornings. Applicants must be flexible to work across these hours as needed. 
- A genuine passion for supporting older Australians 
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent 
- Experience in aged care or community support 
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate 
- Yellow Card (or willing to obtain) 
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle 
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including public holidays, weekends, overnight, evenings, and mornings 
- Experience with dementia care or palliative care 
- Medication Administration training 
- Manual Handling training
