Callington Mill Distillery is seeking an experienced and charismatic Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the leadership of our flagship fine dining venue in Hobart.

The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines elegant, guest-facing service with operational responsibilities.
You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure seamless day-to-day operations while also being a key presence on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support front-of-house service across lunch and dinner shifts.
- Greet, seat, and engage guests with professionalism and warmth.
- Assist with managing reservations, table flow, and VIP guest experiences.
- Supervise and train FOH staff to maintain high service standards.
- Support rostering, stock control, and supplier coordination.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Event Coordinator to execute premium events and service.
- Assist with daily administrative tasks, closing procedures, and service reporting.
- Uphold brand standards and ensure an exceptional guest experience at every touchpoint.
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a premium or fine dining environment.
- A strong floor presence with natural hospitality and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team under pressure while maintaining service excellence.
- Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused.
- Familiarity with hospitality systems, stock management, and rostering tools.
- Availability across lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, people, and delivering elevated guest experiences.
