About the Role
As a Spray Painter at GLT, you are responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to manufactured products, ensuring surfaces are prepared, coated, and finished to meet company standards and customer specifications. This role contributes to the overall quality and presentation of final products while maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
In this role, you’ll:
* Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming
* Mix and match paints, coatings, and finishes to required specifications
* Apply coatings using spray equipment and other tools to achieve high-quality finishes
* Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with standards
* Identify and correct surface defects or imperfections
* Maintain spray booths, equipment, and tools in clean and safe working condition
* Follow job sheets, drawings, and production schedules
* Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of paints and chemicals
* Work collaboratively with production teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations
* Report any faults, hazards, or quality issues promptly

Desirable Skills and Experience
* Competent in spray painting techniques and paint application methods
* Ability to read and follow job instructions and specifications
* Knowledge of surface preparation methods
* Good time management and ability to meet production targets
* Problem-solving skills to identify and fix finish defects
* Clear communication and teamwork skills
* Previous experience as a Spray Painter in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or similar environment (preferred)
* Experience working with spray booths and industrial coatings
* Familiarity with workplace safety practices related to paints and chemicals
* Relevant trade qualification (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand for extended periods
* Repetitive hand and arm movements
* Ability to lift and move materials and equipment (within safe limits)
* Comfortable working in a production or workshop environment
* Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective clothing
