**Role**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensures recording and maintenance of all client and internal communications through the Helpdesk IT system (Service Desk).
- Participates as a Team member in IT Support Group reviews operational planning and after hours Roster.
- Regularly reports to clients and the management team.
- Maintains system documentation where required.
- Performs other duties as required.
**Reporting Relationship**:
This position reports to the IT Support Team Lead.
**Skills and Experience Requirement**:
- Relevant tertiary level qualification;
- Software technical and programming problem solving skills (e.g. investigate issues, analyse, provide and implement solutions etc.);
- Experience in a service desk or customer environment;
- Experience in the use of ticketing, change management and help desk systems;
- Experience in SQL database reporting or scripting is desirable;
- High attention to detail and the flexibility to attend to a range of tasks;
- Ability to work with customers to clearly understand their needs and what is required to achieve their desired outcome. It includes the development and maintenance of customer relationships, recognising and understanding of their needs and working with them to develop solutions;
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to a high business and technical level. Ability to promote and/or facilitate the transfer of solutions and concepts to clients using appropriate and effective communication;
- Highly motivated with the ability to work in a small team and also to take initiative when working alone;
- Proven time management skills, with ability to self-manage and prioritise workloads;
- Ability to set and execute both long and short term goals both individually and in a team;
- Familiar with *nix environments and scripting desirable;
- National Police Clearance will be required;
- Possess a consistent mature and professional attitude.
**Standards of Performance**:
Performance will be measured against the Skill Requirements listed above.
**Training**:
Training in the Applications to be support will be provided in-house.
**Work Hours**:
Position will work on a rotating Roster once knowledge base is suitable.
