About the Position
A teaching-focused academic will work independently, without close supervision.
* They are expected to contribute to curriculum development and subject coordination, deliver high-quality teaching, and support student learning and engagement.
Academics with a teaching focus also contribute to administrative functions of their discipline and undertake scholarly work related to learning and teaching within their field or profession.
Their scholarship is expected to inform and enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
They must demonstrate teaching excellence in alignment with La Trobe University's Teaching Excellence Principles, and maintain a strong record of teaching performance.
* This should be evidenced through Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT) surveys, peer reviews, and other measures of teaching quality.
Teaching academics are expected to teach and coordinate assigned subjects, working collaboratively with course coordinators and discipline leads to ensure a cohesive and high-quality student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design and implementation of curricula that align with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
* Subject Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of subjects, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for students.
* Teaching Excellence: Deliver high-quality teaching, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student success.
* Scholarly Work: Undertake research and scholarly activities related to learning and teaching within their field or profession.
* Administrative Functions: Contribute to the administrative functions of their discipline, including committee work and departmental responsibilities.
