A highly skilled Power Systems Engineer is required to support grid connection, modelling, and technical studies for major wind and BESS projects.
Job Description
You will work closely with global engineering teams and local grid specialists to deliver high-quality studies, optimise connection strategies, and support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct load flow, dynamic, and EMT studies using tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Sincal
* Support grid connection modelling for large-scale wind and BESS projects
* Review connection studies, OEM models, and network infrastructure to identify risks and opportunities
* Prepare grid connection assessments and documentation in line with NER requirements
* Support feasibility studies, project development, and technical due diligence
* Work closely with internal OEM engineering teams, NSPs, AEMO, and technical vendors
* Provide technical support during commissioning and project delivery (level depending)
Requirements
* Strong understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption
* Expertise in electrical engineering, including circuit analysis, electromagnetic theory, and control systems
* Experience with software tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Sincal
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyse complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
* Ability to travel frequently, with willingness to work flexible hours as required
