ABOUT THE POSITION: The Museum Ambassador role champions accessibility, inclusion and cultural engagement across Museums Victoria. As a key public-facing representative, you will contribute to creating welcoming, equitable and engaging experiences for all visitors — particularly individuals with disabilities. The role focuses on supporting accessible navigation, delivering inclusive visitor experiences and building meaningful connections with diverse audiences across Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, Immigration Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building. Some of the key duties include: * Promoting accessibility resources and inclusive practices among visitors and colleagues. * Providing inclusive and responsive support to visitors with diverse needs. * Contributing to the maintenance of safe, welcoming and accessible gallery spaces. * Collaborating with team members on accessibility initiatives, special events and visitor engagement activities. * Providing feedback on visitor needs and accessibility barriers to support continuous improvement. The successful applicant will have: * An understanding of disability rights, inclusive practices and accessible communication strategies. * Demonstrated ability to deliver inclusive customer service and visitor support. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles for diverse audiences. * The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to an inclusive workplace culture. * Flexibility, initiative and a genuine passion for creating welcoming and engaging museum experiences for all visitors. OTHER INFORMATION This is an irregular, ongoing position (0.28 FTE) based at Scienceworks. The salary on offer is a VPS 2.1 Base salary of $62,104 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation. The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
