Salary package : $112,103 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The Position
This is a postdoctoral research position in cosmic ray astrophysics. The postdoc will be a part of the research group led by Prof Mark Krumholz and A / Prof Roland Crocker and will collaborate with them and with other members of the group to conduct original research in this area. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to work with and supervise students at the undergraduate through PhD level.
The Person
Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in astrophysics, physics, or a closely related area, and to have demonstrated the ability to carry out original research in cosmic ray astrophysics through publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with numerical and computational techniques is advantageous but not required.
The School / Department
The postdoc will become part of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, hosted at Mount Stromlo Observatory. The School has an outstanding research track record, and the faculty includes winners of the Nobel Prize and the Prime Minister's Prize for Science, as well as multiple members of the Australian Academy of Science of Australian Research Council Laureate Fellows.

The Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics is part of the ANU College of Science and Medicine, which also hosts research in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, Medicine and Psychology, and Medical Research.
