UQ Biological Resources Full-time fixed term position through to July 2026 Base salary will be in the range $82,133.76 - $91,295.50 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based at our Translational Research Institute About This Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Animal Technical Officer to join our team at the Translational Research Institute (TRI). In this role, you’ll support researchers by overseeing animal care, husbandry, and breeding programs while ensuring compliance with ethical and facility standards. Key responsibilities will include: Deliver high-quality care, husbandry, and welfare monitoring of laboratory animals Support colony management, including health checks, necropsies, and sample collection Maintain cleanliness, biosecurity, and facility equipment to required standards Review animal ethics applications and provide compliance guidance Perform basic animal procedures and prepare/administer restricted drugs as required Supervise and support technical staff and coordinate daily tasks in consultation with supervisors Liaise with researchers to facilitate facility services and scheduling About UQ As part of the UQ community, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world.
