Responsibilities
The role involves maintaining the safety, functionality and presentation of the City's infrastructure through a wide range of civil maintenance activities. Key responsibilities include drainage works and general civil maintenance tasks.
* Drainage works such as trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, compaction operations and operating plant on drainage construction sites.
* Perform civil maintenance tasks including kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation and bitumen repair.
* Operate and maintain construction equipment such as concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor and road‐making plant.
* Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications to ensure quality control procedures are met.
Qualifications
* Current unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) class driver's licence.
* Current Construction Induction Training card (White Card).
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management accreditation; possession or ability to acquire accreditation in Traffic Control.
* Relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment.
* Experience in trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction operations.
* Experience operating plant on drainage construction sites safely and accurately.
* Competency in the use of concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor, road‐making plant, and general construction tools and equipment.
* Knowledge of kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation and bitumen repair techniques, methods and quality control procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
