About the Role

We currently have an opportunity for an energetic Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to join us on a Full Time permanent basis at our Albany Home.

As a Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant, you will support and deliver the Lifestyle program whilst understanding and considering the evolving needs of our residents. The role will work closely with the team but in particular our Lifestyle, Catering staff and Customer Service Officer with strong guidance from the L&L Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

* Working closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator, you'll assist in developing, running and evaluating engaging lifestyle choices that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents living with dementia.
* Facilitating social, recreational, and therapeutic lifestyle choices to promote our residents physical, cognitive, and emotional well‐being.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, team members, volunteers and local community groups.
* Documenting and maintaining accurate records of resident participation and progress.

What You'll Bring

* Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle (Certificate III in Individual Support added bonus)
* Previous aged care experience supporting individuals living with dementia or has a passion work in this area
* Creativity and a passion for designing and delivering engaging, person‐centred activities with a Commitment to continuous quality improvement
* Demonstrated ability to be calm, consistent and confident in complex care environments.
* Comprehensive understanding to ensure resident choices become part of the activities.
* Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience and respect for residents living with dementia and their needs, together with emotional regulation skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage specifically with our MSU residents and their families.
* Sound knowledge of, and commitment to upholding the Aged Care Standards.
* Previous experience with LeeCare or similar software systems and sound computer skills.
* Provide proof of NDIS clearance and the right to work in Australia.
