At Danihers, we pride ourselves on our values, our people, the environment and sustainability. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and experienced Maintenance Officer to represent Danihers Facility Management in the Western suburbs.
The Maintenance Officer will play a key role in our Maintenance team. You will be required to work closely with key stakeholders to ensure our sites are safe, clean, secure and regularly maintained, to work effectively, efficiently and without interruption. This position is ideal for an individual who is a true handyperson with some gardening experience. You will be required to attend to the grounds and gardens when necessary.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily site inspections and "walk arounds"
* Perform various maintenance and repair work which could include carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, joinery, tiling, plastering and gardening
* Maintain gardens and remove debris
* Proactively seek maintenance and gardening tasks
* Participate and assist in preventative maintenance programs
* Maintain respectful, professional conduct
Do you have...
* Experience in general building and gardening maintenance, preferably in a school environment or similar
* Demonstrated experience working with a variety of stakeholders
* Strong work ethics, including the ability to work autonomously, and as part of a broader team
* The ability to work within a fast-paced environment, working towards deadlines without losing your attention to detail
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making ability
* A passion to deliver high-quality work and exceptional customer service
* Good time management and excellent communication skills
* An understanding of OH&S, Quality and Environmental Management systems

Work Environment and Conditions:
* Indoor/Outdoor physical work, including lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and reaching
* School environment and conditions
* Use of power tools, and gardening equipment
Previous experience working in a fast-paced school environment is advantageous, but not crucial. A trade qualification in carpentry or building construction is essential to be successful in this role.
