The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development, and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Regional Social Health team is responsible for the delivery of specialist services across the Network: Outreach Services, Staying Deadly Service, Psychology, and Psychiatry. The team leads the development and implementation of effective clinical governance, quality improvements, workforce development, and an integrated IUIH Network Social Health service delivery model.
About the Role
The position is responsible for delivering clinical assessments and evidence-based therapeutic mental health interventions, in accordance with the Institute Model of Care, providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive, and flexible mental health psychological services to Indigenous clients and their families as a member of a multidisciplinary primary health care team.
Day-to-Day Duties Include:
1. Work collaboratively as a clinical member of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate efficient, responsive, and integrated mental health services to clients.
2. Utilise advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in comprehensive mental health and suicide risk assessment, clinical formulation, and decision-making.
3. Manage an appropriate caseload with effective time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and maintaining accurate client records and documentation.
4. Participate actively in professional and multidisciplinary team meetings, including clinical case conferences.
5. Use high-level communication and interpersonal skills to achieve optimal client and service delivery outcomes, engaging clients and families in their care.
About You
* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
* Current APHRA Registration
* Bachelor of Psychology
* Current Disability Screening Worker Check (Yellow Card)
Desirable, but not mandatory:
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities
