Opportunities are available for Mackay residential positions, FIFO from Brisbane, or DIDO from Mackay and Rockhampton areas.
About the roles:
A seasoned Mechanical Engineering Manager is required for a key roles as part of the Governance and Technical Stewardship (G&TS) team. The role works in close collaboration with the G&TS Principal Engineer who holds the Mechanical Engineering Manager Statutory Position.
The role is based onsite on a 5/2 roster with some flexibility (minimum 4 days onsite per week). Previous underground coal mining and underground MEM appointment and experience will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
* Ensure compliance to Engineering Standards for assigned projects, MoC champion and G&TS pre-review;
* Mechanical document reviews site and asset level documents
* Maintain Intelics register administration and reviewer (mechanical)
* Mechanical design and drawing reviews - Drive continuous improvement;
* Mechanical technical guidance in accordance with our standards and procedures, RS23 support and act as mechanical risk control owner;
* Mechanical dossier review and intro to site process (management of process to engineering, planning space);
* Multi work permit sign offs, incident review and investigation(s) and risk assessment attendance as MEM delegate;
* General mechanical support questions.
General activities:
* BOS processes and meetings - collaborate with stakeholders to gather analysis information;
* Field Leadership;
* Hazard Identification;
* Problem solving time
* Attending crew end of swing safe start and start of swing safe start
Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (university or trade);
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mining.
