Overview

Responsibilities
- Assess and treat presentations to the emergency department under supervision from senior doctors. This is a minimum 6 month term, based in Melbourne.
- Independently assess and manage multiple patients under supervision of seniors.
- Independently prioritise a set of decisions/tasks/referrals for multiple patients.
- You will be part of the Emergency Department team and report to the Clinical Director, the Directors of EM training and the medical team leader on shift.
- Actively teach junior staff the clinical skills expected of a novice clinician.
- Communicate clearly and accurately with patients and colleagues.
- Lead by being a positive role model to junior staff and direct immediate and future learning, informed with reflective practice.
- Take responsibility for self-directed learning and participate in departmental teaching to further clinical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- General registration with APHRA
- Valid ACLS/APLS certificates
- TS3/4 trainee with ACEM
