The Role
Our Band-1 Environment & Sustainable Development (ESD) practice has a rare and rewarding opportunity for a talented early-career lawyer to join the team based in Sydney.
Working closely with industry leading partner Nick Thomas and other senior practitioners, you will join a high-performing and well-respected team with a shared passion for environment, planning, and sustainability. This role involves working on a diverse range of matters including strategic and policy advice, major projects and transactions, litigation, and dispute resolution.
Under the mentorship of senior practitioners, you will have the opportunity to work with a degree of autonomy and develop your technical and client skills.
You will act for clients including Federal, State, and local government agencies, as well as ASX100 listed and multinational corporations.
Skills & Experience
At least 2 years PQE gained within a commercial law firm;
Excellent academic results;
Experience in environment and planning practice, with exposure to transactional, advisory, and litigious matters;
Well-developed drafting skills with attention to detail;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
A collaborative, proactive mindset and the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, counsel, junior lawyers, and other parties.
