ADHD care is broken, but we're fixing it. Kantoko makes high quality ADHD care accessible, from diagnosis to long term support and care.
This is a rare opportunity to be the first data analyst in a fast-moving startup led by a successful founder (prev startup acquired by American Express).
You'll have an outsized impact on the product, processes, and engineering culture.
Working at Kantoko, you have a direct impact on our 1000+ patients. We're changing people's lives and your work directly contributes to this every day.
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst who loves their craft and is excited to help build the future of mental health care from the ground up.
Once in a lifetime opportunity to join a fast-growing health startup as a Senior Data Analyst
Your job is to turn our data into a decision engine for product, clinical and operations. You'll own our analytics stack end‑to‑end: setting up clean, trustworthy dashboards, defining core metrics, and building the structure that lets everyone self‑serve. Most of your time will be BI/insights (think Metabase, SQL, Python, dashboards). A smaller slice will be light data/pipeline work in Databricks to keep things running smoothly.
This is the ideal role for a hands‑on Senior Analyst who wants real ownership: being the founding analytics hire, designing our BI layer, and setting patterns the team will use for years.
About the role:
As Kantoko's First Data Analyst, you will:
* Lead our analytics stack
from raw data through to dashboards and decision‑ready insights.
* Collaborate directly with our Founder
on a day-to-day basis.
* Maintain our BI layer (Metabase)
– models, saved questions, dashboards, access, and documentation.
* Partner with product, operations, clinical and leadership to turn messy, ambiguous questions into well‑scoped analyses and clear recommendations.
* Define and maintain core metrics (activation, conversion, retention, clinical and operational KPIs) and ensure they are consistently implemented and understood.
* Run deep‑dive analyses on growth, patient outcomes, funnel performance, experiments, and operational efficiency – and communicate the "so what" in plain language.
* Implement and refine tracking: event schemas, properties, and data definitions across our product and tools, working closely with engineering.
* Assist with light data/pipeline work (10–20% of your time): tweak Databricks jobs, help debug data quality issues, add simple transformations, and collaborate with engineers on anything heavier.
* Bring a pragmatic approach to data quality.
* Champion data literacy across a 12‑person team – from helping people write their own queries through to challenging assumptions when the data says something different.
* Lean on AI and modern tooling where it helps you move faster (e.g. query generation, documentation, or exploration).
What you'll bring:
You don't need to tick every box, but you're likely to be a great fit if:
* You're excited about joining an early‑stage startup and being the
founding analytics hire
, with real ownership over "how data works" at Kantoko.
* You've spent
4–7+ years
in analytical roles (Data/BI/Product/Insights Analyst) and are already operating at a senior level.
* You are very strong in
Python & SQL
and comfortable working directly with large tables in a warehouse environment.
* You have
deep experience with at least one modern BI tool
(Metabase, Looker, Mode, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), including modelling, building clean dashboards, and enabling self‑serve.
* You're
comfortable in Python
for analysis – notebooks, simple scripts, and data wrangling (Pandas, etc.), not building ML platforms.
* You've worked with a cloud data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and you understand the basics of warehouses, schemas, and transformations.
* You know how to turn vague questions ("Why are cancellations up?") into structured hypotheses, analyses, and clear recommendations.
* You
care about product
and user experience, not just reporting – you like sitting with product, ops and clinicians to understand the real‑world context behind the numbers.
* You
communicate clearly
: you can tell a data story in slides or a Loom, and you're comfortable pushing back when the data contradicts opinions.
* You're
pragmatic
: you know when "quick and good enough" beats "perfect but never shipped", and you're happy to revisit foundations once they're proving valuable.
Bonus / nice to have:
* Experience in health, mental health, or other regulated domains.
* Experience with event‑based analytics (e.g. Segment, Amplitude, Mixpanel) and experimentation.
* Experience in a startup or scaleup.
Our current data stack:
* BI: Metabase
* Data platform: Databricks
* Languages: SQL and Python
* Product & backend: Existing web platform built on Python/Django
Why work with us:
* Hybrid working environment
- 3 days in the office.
* Own a piece
- generous ESOP plan.
* Great team culture
- work alongside our small and quirky team.
* Embrace the purple
* we celebrate what makes people unique and thrive when everyone feels safe to bring their full self to work
* Have an impact
* rare opportunity to have a direct positive impact on patients every day.
