Job Overview
The Integrated Marine Observing System is a collaborative research infrastructure. As an Operations Manager, you will oversee operations and improve business management systems.
Main Responsibilities
1. You will collaborate with the Project Manager to compile contracts, plans, reports, and budgets, overseeing the IMOS National program of work.
2. As an expert in IMOS operations, you will cover KPIs 1 and 2; deployment and recovery of equipment, and data delivery protocols.
3. You will maintain strong relationships with IMOS Operators, Facility/Sub-Facility leaders, and the broader IMOS community.
4. You will provide executive support and participate in committees as required.
5. You will develop policies related to this role and communicate them to relevant parties.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree qualification in a science or administrative discipline, with at least 4 years of experience.
* High-level project management and coordination skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
* Understanding of managing complex research projects and advising management on significant variations.
* Competency in software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and internet/electronic mail.
* Ability to research issues and provide concise summaries and recommendations.
